Demon Laird Legacy of the Mist Clans Book 2 edition by Kathryn Loch Romance eBooks

I have read every Medieval story by this author and they are all consistently excellent not just great BUT excellent. = ) This story is no different. I love a good emotionally tortured hero sometimes! And Ronan the hero in this story is very damaged physically and mentally. He needs a healer to help not only heal his physical injuries but his inner ones as well. Enter our heroine Lia who does all that and more. She is a extremely compassionate brave women.

I also love the relationship between the two brothers, Ronan and Aidan. I hope Aidan gets his own love story eventually. I fell equally in love with Aidan as I did with Ronan.

The only thing that bothered me is an unanswered question about Lia. I don't want to give too much a way and spoil it for anyone. But maybe the author didn't answer this on purpose...because it ultimately didn't matter??? Not sure, but I did wonder.

READ THIS STORY. It does not disappoint I read it one day because I couldn't put it down. There are battles, intrigue, betrayal, friendship, and most importantly romance! Check it out....

Happy Reading!!!

Demon Laird Legacy of the Mist Clans Book 2 edition by Kathryn Loch Romance eBooks Reviews

The “Demon Laird” is a sweet and well written historical romance that takes place in the 1300’s. In this story, Laird Ronan MacGrigor is captured by an English Baron and tortured. He escapes the Baron’s chains however, and is crawling on the ground when he hears his brother’s voice. Ronan collapses in relief as his brother’s arms gently lift his exhausted, and broken body off the ground.

Aiden has no idea how to help his brother Ronan. Not only is Ronan full of rage and plagued with flashbacks, he’s now suddenly falling to the ground, with his body twitching and jerking and his mouth filling and bubbling up with saliva. The Laird’s own clan is afraid of him, and call him the “Demon Laird”. They feel that he must have made a pact with the devil, in order for him to have been able to escape the English, right from underneath their nose.

Aiden was beside himself. He couldn’t believe that the only healer who would be able to help his brother, was an English woman. So even though it grated on him, he sent two MacGrigor men out to locate this woman and convince her to come to Scotland, and heal his brother.

Ronan wasn’t the least bit appreciative of Aiden’s efforts and demanded that the English woman be cast out of his keep. Aiden didn’t follow the Laird’s orders though. He couldn’t, she had given up too much to come to Scotland, and would hang as a traitor if he forced her to return to England. So Aiden watched her instead, and insisted that his brother do the same.

They found that not only was she caring and healing the MacGrigor clan of all their ails, she was enlightening them as well. Despite Ronan’s contemptuous behavior towards her, Lia took it upon herself to educate his clan and explain to them that their laird’s illness had nothing to do with the Devil.

Ronan for the first time since his captivity began to feel hope. He not only allowed Lia to stay on in his keep, but he swallowed the medicines that she made up for him as well. In time he would realize that Lia’s emotional scars were not all that much different from his own, yet unlike him, Lia had always treated him with kindness. And as hard as he tried not to, he found himself falling in love with her. But Baron La March, was not about to let Laird MacGrigor live in peace. Oh no, he was not done tormenting the man, and had cooked up a new cruel game to play.

Kathryn Loch is a talented writer. She has the ability to capture the reader’s interest and play upon their emotions from page one. Her characters are well developed and very likable. I found myself totally engrossed in the character’s lives and didn’t want the book to end. The book ended however, leaving a few loose ends unanswered, but thankfully no cliff hanger. I’m sure any questions left unanswered will be addressed in Kathryn’s next book. I enjoyed reading this historical romance and would recommend giving it a read.
But he's harder to kill than any supernatural creature. He emerges from capture on the verge of death and not quite sane, but is far too stubborn to die. Even his own people are terrified of him, the lord they once loved and trusted... but enter the sassy English healer, Lia, and the warrior who can't be brought down by kings or armies or torture is facing a real challenge )

I loved this book more than words can explain. It was incredibly well-written, well-paced, and overall just very high quality. Lia is strong, unafraid of Ronan (she basically tells him to man up!), but her character never feels forced or contrived. And she is also sweet, with a soft heart full of understanding. She puts Ronan through his paces emotionally he is furious with her, hates her, suspects her, and then she confuses and somewhat embarrasses him as she gently steers him along the path to health and happiness.

And somewhere during this process, they fall in love )
