Charmed by the Salem Witch is a novella and the third in the awesome Appalachian Magic Series. I love this series because the story lines are awesome and they can be stand-alone reads. Some of the characters overlap and enhance each other’s stories, but you can read the books out of order. This novella mentions the other characters from the series, but doesn’t include them.

Tanner Adams, the hottie football star from the first two books, took off from the Alabama area to Salem, Massachusetts to work with his uncle at a college there to escape from his troubles. He had never embraced his witch heritage but had somehow accepted that he was a little different and had a gift that could not be ignored. He soon discovers that Sarah is in danger and he does his best to protect her by doing what he does best: finding things.

Sarah Welch is a novice witch who grew up in the foster care system, never feeling like she belonged or fit in anywhere. Sarah is awesome. She’s smart, funny, caring and always strives to do her very best. She didn’t let her situation bring her down. She started a Women’s college to meet people that she hoped were like her. Sarah was afraid to love or get too close to anyone, but she becomes friends with a few other witches. Strange things begin to happen to her at school and she doesn’t know who she can trust.

Tanner falls for Sarah right away and they are so cute together. I love the chemistry between Sarah and Tanner. They make a great team and it is obvious that they can handle any situation as long as they do it together.

This book had a nice pace to it and flowed well. It was too short! I want more of Tanner and Sarah. The story line is a fun twist on Salem witches and kept my interest throughout. I loved this book and I am really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I've read all 3 books in the Appalachian Magic series and they are very excellent reads. Good character development, interesting and original plots. Great over view of the beliefs of some Southerners. If you like magic, love and challenges, read these books!
I fell in love with these stories and all the characters. Very well written. Don't miss these books! I' m on to another of her series...
This book wasn't as good as the other two. It is still got a different plot but more plain. I guess when we get really involved in our books it's a little let down when a book is not.
This is not my favorite of these books. We follow Tanner out of Appalachia to Salem, and there just isn't much connection to the first two books. It reads very fast, there's mostly romance and a little sex, and does nothing to further any backplot in a series. These are really just stand alone books joined only by all of the protagonists having come from the same town. This one also just has magic as a side issue, everything in the plot could've happened without it.
Although Tanner is a young man who comes from a long line of witches himself in the Appalachians, he doesn't let most people know. While working at the college library, he encounters Sarah. Unaware that there's more to Sarah then he expected. He has an immediate connection to Sarah and uses his unique ability to find things to help retrieve a family heirloom. He has to dig deep to find Sarah before something bad happens.
This is a charming and fast moving novel with characters that you care about and want to learn to know better.
Great story about a young witch heading to college and the adult world. Sarah struggled in her youth to trust people and coming to college hasn't helped her. She thought going to WCS would be the most exciting thing she had done in her life. She thought she would meet other women who were into magic and make life long friends. But a secret in her past leaves her shaken and in danger.

Tanner comes from a long line of witches but doesn't let everyone know. He is working at the college after a sports injury and has his sights set on meeting Sarah. Little did he know there was more to Sarah then he expected. He has an immediate connection to Sarah and with his ability to find things, he helps retrieve a family heirloom. He has to dig deep to find Sarah before something bad happens.

A quick moving novel that is spell binding till the finish.
Debbie Herbert is one of my favorite authors. I downloaded Charmed by the Salem Witch this morning and finished it before lunch. This fast-paced read kept me turning the pages.

The Women’s College of Salem is an academic institution for witches in training.

Sarah comes to the college as a freshman after securing a scholarship. Sarah’s mom dies early in Sarah’s life leading to a life of multiple foster homes. By the time, she reaches college, Sarah longs for friends and love.

Four bad-girl witches befriend Sarah and invite her to several coven meetings. Sarah enjoys the camaraderie until she realizes they’re using her. She leaves the coven, but the evil witches aren’t willing to let her off that easily.

However, in the love department, Sarah scores big with Tanner, a former athlete turned IT, guru. He too has a mysterious past.

Charmed by the Salem Witch is a wonderful read with lots of suspense. If you’re in for a quick fix of magic, then look no further.

I highly recommend this book!
